March 5, 2013 Granderson Lends a Hand

Curtis Granderson has some down time right about now. Might as well use it to good use. He will be raising money for his foundation Grand Kids Foundation on Friday March 15, 2013 from 5-10 pm @ The Patio in Tampa, FL. Check the flyer below for some other information.

Founded in 2007, the Grand Kids Foundation was established focusing on improving the educational experience for youth nationwide as well as helping to re-establish baseball opportunities for inner city youths.

Donations to the Grand Kids Foundation will go towards purchasing school supplies for youths in need, books and supplies for schools which do not get the funding they always need, establishing and providing equipment for inner city baseball programs. The next step of the foundation is to establish a nationwide grant program, which will assist schools with art projects, field trips, supplies and computer software that is education-based.

The foundation has zero operating costs, which means that every penny donated to the Grand Kids Foundation goes back into the education of our nation’s youth.

March 4, 2013     Pass to the Future

Took the plunge and invested in the future of the YANKEES. Over the weekend while attending a Spring Training contest between the Detroit Tigers & the New York Yankees I forked up some cash and bought Season Tickets to the TAMPA YANKEES. At the tail end of the last season decided to join in on the booster club and this season took it the next step and can call myself a season ticket holder. I also signed my kids up for their version of a kids club called BLUE's CREW. Some of the players I have been able to see in person in at Tampa Yankee games that also were invited to big league camp this year are JR Murphy, Kyle Roller, Gary Sanchez, Slade Heathcott, Tyler Austin, Adonis Garcia, Kyle Higashioka, Nick Goody, Shane Greene, Nik Turley, Rob Segedin, Branden Pinder, Jose Ramirez, Zach Nuding and Ramon Flores. Also have gotten to catch current roster players like Alex Rodriguez, Eduardo Nunez, Austin Romine and Joba Chamberlain play some rehab games down here. Excited to see what the future has in store for TY baseball as Luis Sojo is set to lead these young guys for another season. Sojo is the winningest manager in the history of Florida State League history. Marcus Thames also will join him on the bench for his first season in Tampa. Projected to start off the season for the T-Yanks are top prospects Gary Sanchez and Mason Williams. Other players who might make the move to the Tampa squad are Corey Black, Jose Campos, Cito Culver, Angelo Gumbs, Ben Gamel, and Dante Bichette Jr. Looking forward to another season and stay tuned for more updates from Spring Training and other areas of YANKEE UNIVERSE.

Feb. 27, 2013     Start of Something Beautiful

Hello and welcome to the new site Draft 2 Dynasty. I created the site as a place I can share thoughts, ideas, experiences, photos and much more with like minded people. Let me start of by saying Yes this is another blog site dedicated to the New York Yankees. But I don't want to just bring you the lastest news & rumors surrounding the team. I am not only a fan of the New York Yankees (the ones that play in the Bronx) but I am a fan of the New York Yankees (the franchise) as a whole. Spanning GCL, Staten Island, Charleston, Tampa, Trenton and SWB. Once Spring Training has come and gone most of the focus will be on the big league club as well as High A Tampa Yankees. With the hopes to visit as many of the other clubs as possible the ultimate goal this year is 50 games in total not including Spring Training. Which I have already cleared two Spring Training games so far this season. Pictures will be up sometime before the weekend but for now I leave with this. 3 Yankees will have at least 180 hits this year. Not so much out on a limb but Ichiro, Jeter and Gardner are my 3 guys.
